Artist's Statement

 

I grew up loving to draw from as early as I can remember. I received a BFA degree from Auburn University with an emphasis in graphic design. I experimented with many different mediums in college, but never tried pastels until taking classes in 2002 at the Arkansas Arts Center. I fell in love with the brilliant colors and textures that could be created by pastel. I use a unique expressive line style for my pastel work, utilizing many layers of color over different hues of paper. My pastels have won awards at both local and statewide shows, and I have had work accepted at national pastel competitions. I am a past president of the Arkansas Pastel Society.

 

My husband and I are very active in the North Little Rock community. I create art in my studio behind my Park Hill home.
