Who We Are
The Arkansas League of Artists is an eclectic and diverse organization formed to promote the visual fine arts in Arkansas to all ages and across multiple disciplines. The League consists of visual artists and art enthusiasts from all over the state, who gather to learn through the demonstrations of techniques, the exploration of materials and mediums, and from the sharing of collective experiences and knowlege.
What We Do
As a non-profit organization the league promotes artistic education and the importance of the artistic community in Arkansas. We provide artists with opportunities for exposure through organized exhibitions and competitions, various workshops, scholarship awards for High School Students entering a College or University, and funds for students to be used for art instruction and classes at the Arkansas Art Center Museum School.
Our Meetings/Schedule
ALA meets the last Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm, with the exception of November and December. Our November member meeting is typically our Christmas party, and the date depends on how the Thanksgiving holiday and a few other variables come together. So the ALA Christmas party will be booked differently, and may not fall the last Tuesday of November.
Meeting are held at the North Little Rock Community Center at the intersections of Pershing and Willow Street, just across from the Patrick Hays Senior Center in North Little Rock.

(see the map below)
Each month the meetings include a demonstration by a guest lecturer, normally an artist, instructor, gallery owner, or someone working in either the artist community or a service industry that benefits artists. We also socialize and share information with regard to new or known coming artistic opportunities for our members like: upcoming events; exhibitions or shows; competitions, and art supplies sales, etc.
We also hold a monthly competition, voted on by the active members in attendance at the meeting, where the top 5 place winners will get to display their winning artwork at either an area Gallery or Bank for the following month.
